[Nix-dev] adapters.nix for -fPIC or -m32

With Pierron we talked on irc about the -fPIC option to be added maybe
to every package, and he suggested the stdenv/adapters.nix file.

could we use something like this to propagate a "-m32" on x86_64,
along all dependencies for a package desired with "-m32", if the top
package attribute has been declared with the adapter? By now I can't
imagine how can I build a nix expression like that.
