[Nix-dev] Best way to store strong passwords in nix configuration file

I am not sure I understand your issue.

On my side, I have

|$ cat test.nix rec { a = "ETrai_5{h'aG,MQ"; b = "${a}${a}"; } $
nix-instantiate --eval --strict test.nix { a = "ETrai_5{h'aG,MQ"; b =
"ETrai_5{h'aG,MQETrai_5{h'aG,MQ"; } |

Could it just happen that you forgot a semicolon at the end of your
strings ?

Could you provide a minimal (non) working example :-)
