Well, I observe that Google works as if their motto would be «Doing
things almost right», although this is more about external services and
not internal infrastructure.
But from infrastructure point of view, they don't really need anything
the size (and diversity) of NixPkgs. Even when they go into notebooks
they explicitly refuse building a complete desktop OS.
