[Nix-dev] Nix seemingly broke ~/.nix-profile symlink

I just encountered the same issue. Called `nix-collect-garbage` and
afterwards `nixos-rebuild switch`. The system hung and after rebooting I
just had a black screen with a cursor. Fixing ~/.nix-profile solved the
problem. Before I noticed that ~/.nix-profile was broken I did some
rollbacks, but they didn't solve the problem.
