Maybe we're talking about different things, but the categories I know from other
package managers are just labels to group packages together in a user interface
(e.g. "Editors").  The package name should still be unique.

I'm all in favour of categories, BTW, but they're only useful if you have a UI
that can do something with them.  For instance, if somebody wrote a Nix backend
to PackageKit :-)
