[Nix-dev] Update the expat library

Hi,

That's my first patch for the NixOS project. I updated the expat
library, in order to be able to compile GNOME 3 (I'm reading the
instructions on BLFS). I have 3 questions (by the way, English is not
my mother tongue):

1) Is it appreciated to update libraries?
2) Is it a great idea (to try) to provide a way to install GNOME 3 on NixOS?
3) Do I need to place my patch on a specific licence?

I hope you will like my contribution (and maybe my future contributions).
