Some ideas about svn->git sync.

1. We should have a read-only "svn/*" branches (or read-only "nix*-svn" 
repo), and merge these branches into our branches.

2. We can have these read-only svn mirrors both on gitorious and github, so 
anyone can choose between these two hostings.
