Very often there is. But it takes much more time to package a package
then. In the case of Eclipse this would take weeks.

In the thinking rock case you have to create a missing file using
netbeans first. I will try to do so for about one hour. If I can't do it
I'll use the binary and remove the JRE stuff.

The old binary not containing JRE is gone :-(

So I'd say distributing binaries for Java and Scala apps is fine if
bootstrapping from source means a lot of work. I can't judge this
particular case at the moment. I hope its easy here :)
