[Nix-dev] Firefox x86_64 and java applets?

Is this broken. Did this ever work?

ln -s /nix/store/lfsb5h1aajpnrs94jg6s0q9rc02zgv26-jre-1.6.0_13/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/

makes it work. However I'd rather install the plugin by nix-env and
~/.nixpkgs/config.nix.

Any idea how to achieve this?
I've see that the  MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH is beeing used.
However I don't see how to tell firefox to pick the libnpjp2.so
from that?
