Or you can simply get the http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/PROGRAM, look up the
links and sort them.

The correct question is not "whether it is often more than needed", the
correct question is "whether it is always enough and there is no
_simpler_ way". Maintaining complicated regexps is not simple..
