[Nix-dev] howselect gkt themes?

Do you know wether there is a way to select gtk themes or add icons?
I'd like to try pitivi. I've resolved all dependencies but an icon
issue:

I've tried updating the gnometheme as well (thereby noticing that we
have two intltool derviations..) The current gnome theme builds and
installs. But I don't know how to select it. That theme does have that icon.

Also installing the given icon theme above to ~/.local remvoes the hint
to get icon-theme. However audio-x-generic is still not found.

Maybe that's because there is not index? I couldn't create one even by 
running gtk-update-icon-cache.

Any hints appreciated (It think the glade icon issue is realted)
