[Nix-dev] deb package for nix

I am creating a .deb package for nix-0.11. It won't make it into
Debian - I guess - but it will be available for download.

Two questions:

1. Any particular dependencies I should be aware of?

2. How viable is it not to use /nix as a base dir? Not sure where it
should go otherwise, perhaps /var/nix or (uglier) /opt/nix. 

I understand it will break pre-built packages, but it is never going
to make it into Debian this way.
