I agree with the following idea: _create_ a stable branch, backport only
bugfixes there, and _replace_ the "release tarball" with the head of
stable branch once the stable branch is updated.
But I would leave the decision of creating stable branch to Eelco Dolstra.

0.13, Nix doesn't use odd-even numbering scheme. And there is little
chance that it would be correct to call it 0.12 after we por tlanguage
changes to it...
