The whole RPM story is quite complicated. I had originally added RPM 4.4.5
thinking that was the latest and greatest. Turns out that all the
distributions use 4.4.2 and 4.4.5 was just a fork from the original
maintainer after he left Red Hat.

The "new" RPM, that is, what Red Hat and Novell and others are working on
will be a continuation of the 4.4.2 branch.

I only needed it for rpm2cpio though :)
