I can't reproduce that. On e8315cb and x86_64-linux NixOS:
$ nix-build -A canon-cups-ufr2.src
# [... fetches ...]
/nix/store/calj3b4gz6vq99d6wxc1760q66w101k3-o147jen_linuxufrII_0290.zip
$ nix-build -A canon-cups-ufr2
# [... builds ...]
/nix/store/096plp39fhfn41yxqw6dydhzzmvwia2c-canon-cups-ufr2-2.90
