[Nix-dev] Slow downloads of installer

Hello, I am consistently seeing very slow downloads of the installer. For
example,

wget https://nixos.org/releases/nix/nix-1.11.2-x86_64-linux.tar.bz2

takes about half an hour on a very fast network. This is a huge pain when
testing an installing process that installs nix, among other things. Is
there a faster mirror available anywhere? Is this slowness a known and
expected issue?
