[Nix-dev] import vs override

Hi, stupid question of the day.

When I see things like recurseIntoAttr in all-packages.nix I am left
wondering why this is better than repeated `import ./<lang>-packages.nix {
lang = lang_1_0; }`, where lang_1_0 would vary. Does anybody know ?
