[Nix-dev] Seemingly inexplicable proliferation of gcc/glibc runtimes

My intuition tells me that you have something like gc-keep-derivations or gc-keep-outputs pinning build inputs/outputs in the store.

You could use --option xxx false to disable these options temporarily when doing nix store gc.
