[Nix-dev] custom X keyboard map (vs .Xmodmap)

Hi,

I use a custom X keyboard map:

making it available:
https://github.com/chaoflow/nixpkgs/commit/c0c8b1f860a47b545506ba6e1ba2f6c852c4407c#diff-7b6bfb9dfa37fe9e6d86cae07a7a4b3aR276

and activating it:
https://github.com/chaoflow/skel/blob/master/.xsession#L12
https://github.com/chaoflow/skel/blob/master/bin/init_keyboard.sh#L4

However, the current approach of hacking it in, means rebuilding a lot
of packages.

Interestingly, I also use a .Xmodmap:
https://github.com/chaoflow/skel/blob/master/.Xmodmap

I assume I'm doing things with the keyboard map that were/are not
possible to do (for me) with .Xmodmap and vice versa.

Do you see more intelligent solutions to this?
