Yeah, I was more trying to make a point about I/O in general, but if the
overall footprint is smaller and the fs has defragging it will eventually
require somewhat less seeks to read the same working set. Trivial indeed.

Well, in this specific case where the entire store is Write-Once, there is
no practical difference methinks...
