[Nix-dev] [mate-on-nixos] Huge updates on GitHub for Nixpkgs

Hello, Nixers!

I have a question:
I am in a hard work trying to understand NixOS and Mate. But, good
news: Mate has upgraded from 1.9 to 1.10 and with a huge lot of new
stuff!
For now, I have made no upstream pull requests until now.

My question is: what is the best way to continue?

1 - A single huge commit, containing all changes:
or
2 - A series of small commits, one for every Mate component?
