[Nix-dev] gcc has stopped working on Mac OS X Mavericks

Ahh, mystery solved, thanks Michael.
Apparently I was looking inside the wrong file!
For newbies like me, it can be found inside
$HOME/.nix-defexpr/channels/nixpkgs/pkgs/stdenv/nix/default.nix

Simply changing the content of the "extraHook" (replacing that 'export
SDKROOT') with what Michael suggested did the trick.

Thank you guys!
On the silver lining, nix-1.7 works out of the box on Yosemite :)
