I did one build with hydra's "reproduce locally" script. I don't know
if that uses chroot or not.

Then I built the failing expression (on hydra at least), netpbm, using
nix-build -A netpbm. I have not done any chroot configurations on my
nixos system. I guess this means I don't build in chroot.
