Yes and no. I just want ruby gems available through nix, I don't
really care how the expressions are generated. The wiki[1] says I need
extra patches for ruby overlay, so what are they? Are you planning on
pushing it into nixpkgs? I don't want to complicate my setup with
out-of-tree stuff...

What would you say are the pros and cons of the "gem nix" approach and
your ruby overlay?
