It should be:
$ nix-env -iA nixpkgs_unstable.pythonPackages.numpy

nix-env -qa \* |grep fortran
The package is named: gfortran-wrapper
That wrapper suffix is used also for other packages, while it could be
argued whether that's a good idea or not, nix-env -qa \* is your friend.
