[Nix-dev] upgrades and channels

But did you try Kirill Elagin's advice?

NIX_PATH="foo=$HOME/code/nixos/nixpkgs"
nix-env -f '<foo>' -qa '*'

It works for me (without touching ~/.nix-defexp)
