[Nix-dev] hashed mirrors

Hello,

today nixos.org is down, connection attempts by curl get hanged.

There is something in the mirrors-list named "hashedMirrors", that I finally
managed to bypass with something like this:
NIX_HASHED_MIRRORS=blabla nix-build -A mypackage ...

Otherwise, it all hanged in a curl call that tried to get something from
nixos.org/tarballs/...

What is this?!
