Have you found the SVN reposiotiers? Beneath nixos and nixpkgs etc there
is also a configuration like directory containing some examples of other
users.

Try this:

svn ls https://svn.nixos.org/repos/nix

you'll see "configurations"

you can check it out.

Also grepping the /etc/nixo/nixos directory for xserver should give you
some results.

You're particularly  interested in the files called testing because
they contain examples.
