Consider applying this patch to nixpkgs to make it more useful.
It fixes start, restart, stop completion.

Either install upstart into the default profile or use
environment.pathsToLink ["/etc/" "/etc/bashcompletion.d"]; # or just ["/"] ?

The "/etc" works around a bug in the env builder. I have sent a patch
for this case (symlinking subdirs without 1 level dir "/etc") earlier.
