I have the exact same problem, and I've reverted that patch a few hours
ago. I committed it on behalf of Rickard Nilsson, and I'm not sure what
is going wrong.

Rickard, is there any particular reason why you removed the 'patchPhase'
code that used to be in the expression prior to your update? Is it
possible that this change is causing these failures?
