Dear Distribution Developers,

The FOSDEM dates of next year are set: 5 and 6 February 2011

We have just issued our call for main speakers and developer rooms,
see http://fosdem.org/2011/call_for_mainspeakers_devrooms for more
details.


Last year we organized a Distribution Miniconf for the first time, and
we are eager to do it again this year and improve the concept.

Holding the distro miniconf provides a way to better achieve our goals
in two ways:
- by organizing a mini conference where all distributions can
participate in, we foster collaboration and cross pollination,
- additionally, some rooms become available for use by other projects,
thereby diversifying the audience and topics at FOSDEM.

The idea of the distro miniconf is that rather than having several
distributions with their own respective and individual Developer Room,
we will host mixed conference rooms where talks and sessions will be
organized by topic, with contributors from all distributions attending
and participating.

We have created a new mailinglist for this year's edition; you can
subscribe to it at http://lists.fosdem.org/mailman/listinfo/dist2011
to join the discussion and preparations.

It is still a bit early for talk proposals, but this allows us to
already talk about topics, ideas and practicalities.

We will stop using this mailinglist, so kindly subscribe to the other
one if you are interested in participating.
