[Nix-dev] python eggs to nix expressions

Hi,

currently, zc.buildout and virtualenv are used to create isolated
application-specific python environments.

Would it be sane to automatically convert python egg specifications into
nix expressions?

zc.buildout enables so-called recipes, that execute scripts, generate
config and create isolated python scripts based on python sys.path
manipulation.

As far as I understood, this should be possible to achieve with nix as
well.

Any reasons why it would be a bad idea to pursue this line of thought?
