When it prints "recovering journal.." it starts to recover journal. When
it prints "filesystem clean", it reports that all errors it could find
were corrected. It never states that it doesn't do anything else.

A comment from e2fsck source:
	/*
	 * Check to see if we need to do ext3-style recovery.  If so,
	 * do it, and then restart the fsck.
	 */

I think it clears everything.
