Why?

What happens if you upgrade python-2.5 to 2.6 ? You're old (2.5) libraries will
still lay around.

You can try. But you'll have to export NIX_PYtHON_SITES to
~/.nix-profile/THE_PYTHON_LIBS where THE_PYTHON_LIBS is the folder
containing the libraries.
