That's why I mentioned a separate tree.. These are a) useful to some
people b) associated with Nixpkgs c) not completely suitable for
Nixpkgs. So nixpkgs-bleeding-edge or something could be useful. There is
a reason to share these, because sometimes needed patches are different
from stable version. And sometimes these are good candidates for Nixpkgs
expression for next major version.
