I'm not using an X86_64 system. (I'm not sure if this matters).

The output of uname -a
> Linux tncbuild3 2.6.18-92.el5PAE #1 SMP Tue Apr 29 13:31:02 EDT 2008
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

However, on my machine, there was no problem installing glibc-2.7

I'll double check that what I've sent you works on my machine and get
back to you

Cheers
Jeeva.

Hi Jeevakan,

I applied your patch to the current SVN head and tried to build Nix on a
x86_64 linux system. Unfortunately, glibc-2.7 doesn't compile with the
2.6.18-92.el5PAE-i686 kernel headers. I've tried on two different
machines, but the outcome is a compile error in libc-tls.c. More
specifically, the symbol "__NR_arch_prctl" is undeclared in
__libc_setup_tls(). It seems that the glibc build mis-configures how to
access thread local storage.

Did you ever experience that problem?

Take care,
Peter
