First, it's not easy to find out about nix-commits list - afaik, it's
mentioned only under News section and not under Mailing lists.

Second, right it fulfills the purpose, but being present in different
format (like mailing list on Gmane) can bring more people to NixOS,
except if there is similar motto as in Haskell: "Avoid success at all
costs!" ;)
