[Nix-dev] Stdenv branch

Hi,

I created a branch for stdenv hackery (so that changes don't affect the trunk
until merge).  Some of the pending changes:

BTW, since Glibc >= 2.6 doesn't support LinuxThreads anymore, we have to switch
to NPTL, but that breaks compatibility with Linux kernels < 2.6.  Is that a
problem for anyone?  (Or is there a way around breaking compatibility?)
