[Nix-dev] nix-build error: Use of uninitialized value in concatenation

Hi,

I have previously added a couple of packages in exactly the same way already.
Now I'm trying to build a simple application in Nix 0.11pre8858(svn) on
Debian and get the following error (as root):

# nix-build top-level/all-packages.nix -A mc
warning:
`/nix/store/krz5pvfqmc6j0c84kb9zwxz83wqb8nh3-channels/nixpkgs-unstable/pkgs/.nix-build-tmp-derivation'
is not in a directory where the garbage collector looks for roots; therefore,
`/nix/store/b2jsdpjv282djb2xg74x76780yl8qriy-mc-4.6.1.drv' might be removed
by the garbage collector
store derivation is /nix/store/b2jsdpjv282djb2xg74x76780yl8qriy-mc-4.6.1.drv
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/nix/bin/nix-build line 138.

I followed the steps in the Nix User's Guide ch. 5.1, which worked flawlessly
before (added a new nix expression in
/root/.nix-defexpr/nixpkgs-unstable/pkgs/applications/misc/mc which gets
called by all-packages.nix). I even completely reinstalled Nix, but still get
the same error.

What could be the cause of this?

Blessings,

Christian
